Introduction

What’s Included:

Market Psychology

Behind the scenes of your trading screen a whole world of psychology exists, we have included some material that goes some way to explain (1) Market Sentiment & Crowd Behaviour, (2) Behavioural Finance and Economics. This serves to help you understand the way markets work from a psychological view point.

Trader Psychology

Technology is simply the end product to action your conviction about the market you are trading, yet in front of that screen sits a human being, and that is where the situation becomes complex. Mixing trading and humans is a funny thing, and very often overlooked, so we are giving you a head start by teaching you some techniques that will have you feeling your best, thus making you a peak performer. We then move into the psychology of optimism and how just by changing a thought you can change your life.

Emotions are unavoidable in life, and together with trading strange things can happen, so we are giving you some insight into emotional intelligence (EQ) their causes and effects, along with techniques to understand and master them. Performance cues, and focusing follows and this section has some great advice in helping you stay alert, and fully focused on the task at hand.

Goal setting is an important part of trading as it is in life so this part aims to help you set a route to success. Trade execution can make or break a trader and we explain the principles here so you don’t encounter problems executing. Lastly we give you a peak performance check list to get you revved up and in the right frame of mind for positive trading!

The How To Do:

I could not stress enough how important psychology is in trading, and although you might think that it all sounds rather silly I assure you that psychology is approximately 80% of trading. You will get a serious advantage over many traders if you fully understand psychology and its effects on people and markets. Start using the techniques we have suggested, or by all means find your own way of doing them that works for you. The main point is maximising your full potential using all means possible.

After each section you will be asked to complete some helpful questions (in red) to help you with your understanding. Please note that these do NOT form part of the examination.
