TYPES OF IMAGERY

Dealing with emotions is very important to your health. It is all very well to say that we must deal with these feelings, but how do we go about doing so, and what exactly is “dealing with our emotions”?

Internal Imagery

…is considered to be primarily kinaesthetic in nature, as opposed to visual. It is kinaesthetic in the sense that the individual actually imagines himself carrying out a task from within his own body.

External Imagery

…is considered to be primarily visual in nature. It is different to internal imagery in that it is similar to watching yourself on television or from a distance. Therefore, you do not actually feel anything within your body.
