DEALING WITH EMOTIONS

We Must Accept Our Emotions

Dealing with our feelings is facing, accepting, and working through them. We will always have emotions, so we must learn to deal with them. If repressed, they will find a way to come out as in depression, anxieties, panic, etc and will de-motivate us.

Winning Mental States

Daily self-assessment is important for learning how to manage your emotional state. Early each morning, take a few moments to determine how you are feeling. Ask yourself a few questions such as: Am I rested? Did I sleep well last night? How am I feeling right now? Am I carrying any unresolved grievances with me today?

It may be beneficial to keep a diary of your feelings.

Some questions you could ask yourself when you are writing in your diary/log are:

  • What am I feeling when I entered/exited the trade?
  • When did it start to change?
  • What does it make me want to do?
  • What were the triggers for this emotion?
  • What pictures come to mind as I feel it?
  • When else have I felt it? Is it familiar or something new?
